Comedian turned Hero Saptagiri has already tested his luck with movies like ‘Saptagiri Express’ and ‘Saptagiri LLB’. Now, the actor is going to come up with yet another comedy movie ‘Vajrakavachadhara Govinda’. Directed by Arun Pawar, the movie is slated to hit the screens on 14th of this month. Vaibhavi Joshi played the female lead in this movie. During, the promotions of the movie, Saptagiri has participated in the interviews and said some interesting things about the film. Here are some excerpts:

This is your hat trick as a hero. How does it feel?

After ‘Saptagiri Express’ and ‘Sapthagiri LLB’, ‘Vajrakavachadhara Govinda’ is my third movie. With the first film, I gained image and money. For the second, I got name only. Now, I hope that my third movie will bring me both name and money. This is small budget film. The audience can happily go to the theatres to see comedian Saptagiri.

Tell us about your role in this film.

I played the role of a Thief in this film. The story revolves around a Diamond. My character name is Govindu who is a thief. What is the relationship between the diamond and Govindu? How the Diamond troubled him? How Govind will entertais? forms the story.

How do you want to grow as a hero?

I believe in story and story will take me forward. Even if it is beyond my strength, I will try to do my best but if there is no story, then the movies won’t work out well. So, I strongly believe in story in a film.

Is your comedian image troubling you as a hero?

Yes, 100%. But I am going to overcome it very soon. I have been picking some good stories and I also believe in myself. So, I strongly believe that I can succeed. Also, I didn’t come to the industry to become a comedian. When I was working as an assistant director, they have recognised the comedian in me. But I swear that I don’t have a comedian in me. Even today, except for ‘Venkatadri Express’, I haven’t laughed for any of my movies.

Any plans to direct your own movies?

No, but I have been choosing only some particular stories because of my thought process. My father is a constable. After seeing the struggles he faced for 30 years, I did my first film. In my second, there is a concept that deals with farmers. My third movie discusses about cancer patients. “If our idea is good then we should implement it, else god will punish us” will be the concept of the film.
